JS Asteroids Automation Part 3 (Automate the Ship)

In the third and final part of this JavaScript Asteroids Automation tutorial series, we feed in real game data to our neural network! First, we add some logging to our NeuralNetwork class to track the output errors. We then try inputting the asteroid’s location and ship’s angle into our system with mixed results ;) However, once we add a fourth input – asteroid angle – to the mix, our ship gets a lot more precise! With a bumped up rate of fire and an increased frame rate, our ship performs outstandingly!
Neural networks are a fairly advanced topic, so this tutorial series has attempted to keep the complex theory to a minimum and focus more on the programming side of things. Download the code below!
