My system runs on PAL standart, so I had to use a PAL color decoder. The decoder it self is from an old scrapped color television Tesla Color and it decodes PAL video into R-Y and B-Y color signals. These signals are then summed in color matrix to produce the G-Y signal. With all 3 color differential signals all we have to do is to combine them with the luminance Y to get the individual Red, Green and Blue components. The colored trimmers on the matrix board control the level (saturation) of each color. An analog mutiplexer uses sensors on the color wheel to determine which color component to display on screen at the moment. By spinning the wheel at speed exactly the same as the vertical refresh of the video signal and each time displaying different of the RGB components we achieve full color image. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz9Q9ni9Tr0
