How To Netinstall LHG

To netinstall the MikroTik LHG (Light Head Grid) device, follow these steps:

  1. Download Netinstall Tool: Visit the MikroTik website and download the Netinstall tool. This tool is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

  2. Connect the LHG: Connect your LHG device to your computer using an Ethernet cable. Ensure that your computer's network interface is set to obtain an IP address automatically.

  3. Run Netinstall: Launch the Netinstall tool on your computer. If you are using Windows, you may need to run it with administrative privileges.

  4. Detect the Device: Netinstall will automatically detect the LHG device connected to your computer. Make sure the device is selected in the Netinstall main window.

  5. Choose Firmware: Specify the firmware version you want to install on the LHG device. This can be the latest stable release or any other desired version. You can either select a package already downloaded or download the firmware from the MikroTik website directly through Netinstall.

  6. Start Installation: After selecting the firmware, click on the "Install" button in the Netinstall tool. It will initiate the process of installing the firmware on the LHG device.

  7. Follow On-screen Instructions: Netinstall will guide you through the installation process by displaying on-screen instructions. It may prompt you to set a password or perform other setup steps. Follow these instructions carefully.

  8. Wait for Completion: The LHG device will restart automatically during the installation process. Wait for the process to complete, which usually takes a few minutes.

  9. Disconnect and Reboot: Once the installation is done, disconnect the LHG device from your computer and power it off. Then, power it on again to let it boot up with the newly installed firmware.

  10. Configure LHG: After rebooting, you can access the LHG device through the web interface or Winbox by entering its IP address in a web browser or Winbox app. You can now configure it according to your specific needs.
