How to Find the Median of a Set of Numbers | Minute Math

In this video we learn how to Calculate the median of a set of numbers. We find the mean of the numbers 12, 13, 19, 9, 11, 15, and 18.

The steps we followed to find the median of a set of numbers is:

1. List the numbers from smallest to largest.
2. Count how many numbers are in the set. Call this n.
3. Is n even or odd? 3a) If n is an odd number, the median is the middle value. 3b) If n is an even number, the median is the mean of the two middle values.
