The Hua Hin Boardwalk Project Update - December 2022
Michael Brown
Slow but steady progress, with one major piece of land and beach cleared, several small lots cleared and a collapsed roof in an abandoned pier. Lots to see in this update!
This is the second in a series of videos about the building situation along Naresdamri Road in downtown Hua Hin, running 500 meters from the new pier to the Chinese temple.
Originally a fishing village in the days before property ownership, the character of the street has changed and is now going through the court system to enforce lack of legal property ownership and encroachment on the King's shoreline.
The purpose of these videos is to show the history of the area, and both sides of the arguments in favour of modernization or preservation.
In the first video back in February I showed a street view of the current restaurants and shops along the street, then flew the drone to see the view from above and buildings impact on the shoreline. You should watch that one first go to get the full background on the situation and see the original building structures.
In this video I did the street walk and drone flight again, and highlight the changes seen.
