Do we only use 10% of our Brain? - Mini Myth Mondays
Mikey's Lab
The 10 percent of the brain myth is a widely perpetuated urban legend that most or all humans only use 10 percent (or some other small percentage) of their brains. It has been miss-attributed to many people, including Albert Einstein.
The fact is that our brains are VERY expensive organs, looking at caloric and other resource usage. As such using only a portion of our brains would not make evolutionary sense. That is to say there would be no advantage to natural selection allowing a genetic sequence that caused such wasteful allocation of biologic resources to continue to be prevalent.
