Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Playthrough – Part 12: Seek the Hazard for Nova Power

I'll be fair right here. The title for this part isn't the best but what can you do?

Regardless we're still in the Pirate Homeworld. However, we need to take a little bit of a detour. Where? To Elysia. Turns out we need to get ourselves a little upgrade so we can fully explore the Homeworld. It's the Spider Ball. Metroid's not complete without the Spider Ball.

With the Spider Ball we return back to the Pirate Homeworld and continue exploring. It's here we get some needed improvements. First is the Hazard Shield. Think of it like a mix of the Varia & Gravity Suit upgrade. To be fair, this game doesn't let you go through water of any sort. However the Hazard Shield is useful as it lets you go through acid rain and fuel gel. Think of it as something that will help you out as you explore the Pirate Homeworld.

The other upgrade you get is the Nova Beam and to get that, you need to head to their mining facility. To even get that requires you to lob four bad guys into that machine to overload it. Once you do that, then you can acquire a very powerful weapon. The Nova Beam shares similarities with the Wave Beam as you can have it hit through walls, or in this case, Phazite. Plus combined with the X-Ray Visor allows you to take down enemies with ease. I'm serious.

With these newfound powers, Samus has what is needed to take the fight to the Space Pirates. But she needs a bit of help... from the Federation. Part 13 is where the fight is on. We're taking the fight to the Seed of the Pirate Homeworld.
