How Double Jumping BROKE Red and Blue Balls Speedruns

Red and Blue Balls: Treasure Island was once considered to be the worst game in the Red Ball series, both from a casual and speedrunning standpoint. The puzzles in the game were unintuitive, the controls were lackluster, and the platforming left a lot to be desired, causing many people to completely avoid the game. Thankfully, speedrunners discovered a variety of double jump methods, which allowed for the game to be blown wide open, making it something that people actually wanted to complete as fast as possible. In the span of just two years, Red and Blue Balls went from being the longest game in the Red Ball series to being the very shortest. This video covers the double jump revolution that made it all possible.

Corrections: 9:59 - It is actually possible to get onto the gem platform with other methods, with motorjumping actually being the fastest. However, the charged MBJ remains the best choice for runners. 10:37 - It is possible to climb the wall without Pause Jumping, but it is significantly harder to do so. The PJ makes is what makes the strategy run viable. 11:08 - PurpleJuiceBox has actually implemented the double rock jump into his runs already.
