How to Extract Transparency Masks from Blend If Layers in Adobe Photoshop
Max Chroma
In this video I explain some of the ways that the Blend-If function works on layers in Adobe Photoshop and how to go about extracting the Transparency effect which is created as its own Mask you can then apply and remove the Blend-If function, or use it in another way. It can be fairly simple on a Blend-If "This Layer" function, but it is more tricky when you do it on a Blend-if "Underlying Layer" operation. It may not always work if the layers already have some opacity or transparency in them, but there is a trick I show which can work if there isn't any other transparency and help to grab the opacity mask by itself.
I've recently found some great ways to use the Blend-If feature and will continue to make more videos about this and other photoshop capabilities.
