This video teaches the basic fundamentals of digital image halftones and how to use Photoshop to create halftone filters and effects, comparing the Pixelation-Color Halftone effect to the more professional Bitmap-Mode halftone conversions.
I teach how to create some basic halftone pattern filters and how to apply blending modes like Hard-Mix to make them convert the underlying layers into halftones.
I then show how to run automated actions that will extract the more precise halftone filters from Photoshop's bitmap mode conversions and get the Round, Line, Ellipse and other dot shapes as repeating tiled patterns that you can then work with in RGB mode directly as layer effects or filters.
At the end of the video I show how I use these types of pattern filter layers in some artistic ways to make some of my Max Chroma interlocking color halftone digital artworks.
