The summer heat is in full swing and the inshore fishing bite has been slow for me lately and after multiple underwhelming trips in a row I decided I needed to try something different. In order to deal with the slow summertime bite I drove over an hour to get to a small lake that I'd heard was absolutely loaded with a new species that doesn't care about the dog days of summer. The bite was on from the get-go and these big, angry, prehistoric fish just kept biting as the day went on. I ended up catching so many fish that my wrist was sore!
