Hello everyone! Today I wanted to address a new community controversy regarding a new UGC item uploaded by Ant (or Antster), called the "Golden Parrot". Several users have pointed out that the Roblox UGC item is a blatant plagiarism of the Macaw Shoulder Friend shoulder accessory, with a basic yellow retexture. Low quality, lazy UGC items are one thing, but copying an existing mesh is a big nono.

So what's my take on this? Honestly, I feel like this falls on the fault of not only Ant but Roblox themselves. ALL Roblox UGC items have to go through intensive screening, and as such this should have been caught in their system way before it made its way onto the catalog. We don't know whether Ant commissioned someone to do this piece of UGC, or if he did it himself, but either way this was a very, very bad mistake nonetheless to make.

Roblox Star creators are endorsed by the company, and should be held to higher standards. What happened today, as well as the actions of before by other various creators, show a lack of regard for those. Developers are not given the same treatment as those who promote the game over social media, and that's another point of contention.
