--Script-- Helo everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the Robloxian, the news show for anything and everything Roblox. This week has actually been quite nice, with no major drama to report. So maybe this episode will be less Drama Alert and more actual news, for once.
First, let’s talk about all the small changes that Roblox has been making to slowly update the platform. Last week, Roblox announced on the developer forums that they are changing the way that the top bar looks, to something they claim is more user friendly. These changes are expected to be released by late March or early April.
Honestly, I quite like the new look. As I’ve stated before, I think that this is only one small step as Roblox is trying to modernize the look of both the client and the website, and it’ll go a long way to help make the new leaderboard fit in instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.
Next, let’s also go over some minor changes. Roblox also decided to update the star creator logo from a flat yellow star to a comet-looking thing. Personally, I don’t like it as the star part of the icon is less noticeable, but I understand why it had to be changed because I personally have mistaken star creators for the game developer/creator in the past. Several users brought up some suggestions, but Roblox probably won’t change it again for the time being.
And finally, let’s talk about the Bloxys. The game released today, with most people (including myself) feeling a bit...let down by it. I mean, it’s fine for what it is. There are a couple of collectables around the map, coins that give you accessories in-game, and some quests, but overall it feels like there just wasn’t enough content to justify its release a whole 24 hours earlier than the event proper. And while I really appreciate the fact that all proceeds from the items will go to their respective charities, I just feel like a team could have probably done a lot more to fill in the event space.
Oh, and the fact that console users can’t move, the music only plays at the spawn, mobile players can’t chat, and the whole neon look hurts to look at.
But, that’s actually it for this week's episode of the Robloxian! There wasn’t anything in the way of drama for once - maybe the coronavirus social distancing also applies to online interactions. But anyways, feel free to like and subscribe, and for anything and ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUIxJrthPC4
