Testing 4 AAA Games on openSUSE Tumbleweed KDE - Is It Good for Gaming?
Linux Network
In this video, I put openSUSE Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma 6 to the test as a gaming distro in 2025! I benchmarked 4 AAA titles on my Ryzen 7 5800X and AMD RX 7600 XT system at 1080p to see how well this rolling release Linux distro handles modern, demanding games.
🕹️ Games tested:
Alan Wake 2 (with rescaling for FPS boost) Starfield Baldur's Gate 3 (native Linux version) Expedition 33
I used MangoHUD for performance monitoring and stuck with openSUSE’s official Mesa drivers — no Kisak’s PPA or third-party tweaks! See how each game performed, how easy it was to set up gaming on openSUSE Tumbleweed, and whether this distro is worth considering for your Linux gaming rig in 2025. If you’re an AMD user or curious about Linux gaming beyond the usual distros, this one’s for you.
Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and drop a comment on what distro you’re gaming on these days!
