The Oreon Project

The Oreon Project was started in October 2022 by Brandon Lester. The project started as a distribution planned to be based on Ubuntu. Plans later changed, as Oreon Lime R1 shipped with Fedora Linux as the base. Shortly after, the base was changed again. Oreon is focused on long lifecycles, strong security, and minimalism. Oreon Lime R2 was released on February 18, 2024, promising 8 years of support lasting until 2032. How You Can Contribute
