It's my haven for tranquility, offering a laid-back vibe, diverse accommodations, thrilling water sports, and a warm local community that makes it an unforgettable destination. Today, my husband and I unravel the mystery for you. We're about to embark on an exciting adventure, charting a course to one of Thailand's most intriguing islands. So buckle up and get ready for the journey of a lifetime! Starting from Singapore or Malaysia, the first step involves a road trip. Imagine yourself behind the wheel, the open road ahead, and the excitement of an epic journey. From Singapore, it's about a ten to twelve-hour drive, heading north through Malaysia. From Kuala Lumpur, it's roughly a seven-hour drive. You'll be following the North-South Expressway, which takes you all the way to the Malaysian-Thailand border. This trip is an adventure in itself, taking you through some stunning landscapes. Once you reach the Malaysian-Thailand border, it's time for some important procedures. Here, you'll need to clear customs and immigration checks. Buy your vehicle travel insurance before entering the Thailand Border. You can get to the Malaysian border. With that done, you're officially in Thailand and your journey continues.
Now, we're on the final stretch - the road to Ko Lanta. From the Thai-Malaysian border, we journey north, weaving through the lush green landscapes of Southern Thailand. We pass through bustling Trang city, a stopping point for food and fuel. Then, we venture onward to the Krabi province, a gateway to the Andaman Sea's islands. Finally, we reach the car ferry, our sea bridge to the paradise that is Ko Lanta. And there you have it - you've arrived at the beautiful island of Ko Lanta.
So, to recap our journey, we kicked off our road trip from either Singapore or Malaysia, driving or riding through scenic routes.
