Watch me burn an old painting in slow motion (and in super-speed)
This was an encaustic painting I had made during my time at OCAD. Before I begin work on a large painting, I used to make a lot of samplers and testers to try out a technique before committing to the big piece. This was especially important with encaustic, a paint medium I was just learning. If the sampler turned out, I held onto them....for reference, mostly.
No longer. I havent done encaustic in 15 years, so why am I holding on to these samples? Into the fire you go!
This is a mix of real time, 5X slow motion, and 4X sped up video of fire consuming a painting. These videos are intended to be watched casually in the background, like something from the "slow TV" movement.
