Something we’ve talked about in a previous video is improving the displayed average noise level — or DANL — by using a narrower resolution bandwidth. But what if that isn’t enough? The next thing to try is minimizing the input attenuation.
Lowering the input attenuation does not affect the sweep speed, unlike lowering your RBW setting. But watch out, a 0 dB input attenuation can overdrive the analyzer’s mixer causing compression and IF overload.
