The scope we used: https://keysight.com/find/4000x I use this scope because the big screen is useful for teaching. For beginners, I recommend the InfiniiVision 2000 X-Series or 3000T!
Keysight's Daniel Bogdanoff teaches about AC and DC coupling in the sixth episode of The 2-Minute Guru. AC coupling, sometimes called capacative coupling, can be used to filter out low frequency components of a signal. This gives higher measurement resolution and accuracy in some circumstances. Eliminate noise to get more stable triggering, or look at ripple on a voltage rail for better power supply analysis.
The 2-Minute Guru is dedicated to teaching the basics of electrical engineering concepts and equipment.
