These common solutions are both practical and clever. What is your layer moving between two identical keyframes? Let's look at the spatial interpolation. Need to move a bunch of layers that you've already animated? Use a null to save your work. What to reposition your anchor point without moving the layer? Thats what the pan behind tool is for.
