In a previous video, Ken did a DIY automatic flip hook. This is a very old design that is no longer being produced here in America. However, you still can buy nail hooks made this way from overseas. In that video, Ken showed how to bend Aberdeen hooks very easily using this technique. However, when he used other types of hooks produced by companies like ⁨@EagleClawFishing⁩ and ⁨@MustadFishing⁩ the hooks broke about 25%-50% of the time. The only exception was bronze hooks. However, Ken found the bronze hooks unusually difficult to bend when produced by Eagle Claw. Sadly, the hook selection in Northwest Florida is limited so Ken did not have the opportunity to try other #fishinghook brands. After talking with his buddy Ricky Wallace of ⁨@wallaceknifeworkshomestead⁩ , Ken decided to try #annealing the #fishing hooks. While this is only a preliminary test, the results were rather revealing.
