Elij made a nice furnace array and later nessie and I joined him to compact and optimize it even more. 48 furnace array info:

5 items/s item loading
runs at 0.8 ms/t
furnace efficient
consumes all fuels that smelt more than 1 item (so no sticks, bowls, saplings, carpets, wool, buttons)
has no entities, so can run in lazy loaded chunks
has a small drawback, 0-48 smelted items can get stuck in droppers below after run. Way to fix it would be to add 10sec delay to turning off, but we though it is not needed since will be less compact 384 furnace array info:
item distribution has 6 hopper minecarts, so they need to be entity loaded at least while furnace distributes items
40 items/s item loading
everything else is same, just 8 times faster than 48 furnace version (138k items/h)
item collection and fuel input was not installed, since its up to user how he wants to customize it
