What's it like to work a ham radio QSO party or contest?

This video I show some short clips of me working the Mississippi QSO party and I put them together to show you a little about what takes place if you are new to contesting on HF. Generally it's the same process, you see a upcoming contest that you would like to work as a contest Station. First thing is to read the rules and know the exchange for the contest, they can be different for each one.

I didn't grab many recordings while I worked the QSO party, I worked about 8 hours out of 12. There was some down times where I got no answers to my CQ and then there was rapid pile ups.
