Instead of starting with Solidity, he dived straight into challenges like Damn Vulnerable DeFi and Capture the Flag exercises. Initially lacking understanding of Solidity development and the state machine, Chriss realized the importance of an attacker mindset.

Through CTF exercises, his perspective shifted from being a builder to becoming a breaker. He discusses the significance of this mindset change and how it made him more cautious and paranoid about potential vulnerabilities in smart contracts, computers, and mobile phones.
