Rogue Trooper Redux PREVIEW

Rogue Trooper Redux release date: October 17th 2017, for PS4, PC and Xbox(one), and Nintendo Switch sometime later.

Somebody at Rebellion was so kind as to give me an early look into the upcoming Rogue Trooper Redux, a graphical overhaul of the old, but good, 3rd-person shooter Rogue Trooper released back in 2006. Here's 10 minute's worth of gameplay clips hastily cut together from the first three missions. Not a great video, but should give you the general gist of of the game. Love shooting the air tanks on the enemies' backs. As much fun as using sticky bombs on enemies in Armed and Dangerous.

From what I can tell this is mechanically the exact same game as the original, down to even the minor issues in the gameplay, just with a complete graphical overhaul. Only changes to gameplay that I could see are that some less useful beginning tutorial messages have been omitted and taking cover is now automatic when walking into a wall instead of having to press a key. Both methods of entering cover have their pros and cons and it's debatable whether taking cover in Rogue Trooper is actually beneficial, so as far as gameplay goes Redux is not worse. Graphically it's objectively better, unless you don't like tight leather trousers on muscular men.
