7th Grade Math 12.3c, Using a Simulation to Make a Prediction, Compound Events
JoAnn's School
We can use a simulation or model of an experiment to find the experimental probability of compound events. We can use a combination of number cubes, spinners, playing cards, bag of numbers or colors, or coins. We walk-through an example of finding the experimental probability of a compound event. We choose a model, we find the sample space for the compound event, we perform the simulation, then we find the experimental probability. We also use our simulation to predict a larger number of probability for that compound event. We review how to find the numerator and denominator of the ratio from a table of our results.
