Diaspool filament clips
𝐇𝐎𝐖𝐈𝐂: 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐂𝐚𝐧
3D model description I don't really like the filament clips that attach on edge of spool or to the filament inside spool. Noticed some spools have holes opposite of each other and thought attaching something there to secure the filament would be a better solution. This is what I came up with.
Designed this for a 1 kg Elegoo spool that is 58 mm wide, but it fits others, including Overture and Priline. The 58 mm part is a tight fit on the Priline because the spool is about 5 mm narrower, but does work. I'll include a narrow version reduced to 53 mm for spools with narrower spacing. Peg diameter is 2.5 mm and is 4 mm long.
The filament holder has both a clip for holding filament or a hole to thread it through. Whatever one's preference is.
Each part consumes a little over 3 grams of filament using settings below.
3D printing settings 0.4 mm nozzle 0.2 mm layer height 15% infill I manually painted some support under the pegs. Bambu Studio wasn't putting any under them on the auto setting. Didn't try printing them without support. But I've had other things like that and ended up with some bird nesting of the extruded filament.
I know there are sites specifically for 3d models, however, out of 10 major ones I examined, only Cults3d and Pinshape have a decent privacy policy (no Google telemetry) for basic usage. There is an added hurdle for those sites though, in that they require signup to download files. I chose to put my designs on Cults3d and realize not everyone will signup to download models. Since Odysee does not require sign up to download, that is why I am making my designs available here as well.
