How to make a folded paper text effect in Gimp

Hi everyone, in this tutorial I will show you how to make a simple folded paper text effect. This tutorial is based off a tutorial I seen a long time ago. I will leave a link below to it. It is a Photoshop tutorial. i am not trying to copy anyone's work. I just thought it was a cool effect and i use it a lot. We are going to be using the rectangle select tool, and the burn tool in this text effect. i will also show you how to make a subtle background for the effect. I hope you enjoy the tutorial.
