Easily Migrate VMs Between Proxmox Hosts Using Synology NAS
Geek Of All Trades
I am downsizing my homelab and to do that, I need to migrate VMs from my current Proxmox host to a new host. I am just learning how to do this, and figured I would share it with you too.
In this video, I demonstrate how to migrate virtual machines (VMs) from an old Proxmox host to a new one using shared storage on a Synology NAS. I'll guide you through setting up a shared folder, configuring NFS permissions, and performing backups and restores of VMs between the servers. This process provides an efficient solution for managing VM migrations and backups. By the end, you'll have a practical understanding of how to streamline your VM migration using Synology and Proxmox.
