It seems Dragon Quest XII will be an action RPG, or at the very least abandoned it's turn based roots. during a recent livestream Dragon Quest series Creator Yuji Horii said they will be abandonding turn based RPGs but said it wouldn't be an action RPG, clarifing later it is going to be accesible to those who aren't accustom to Action RPGs. As time turns more and more games seem to be stepping away from its turn based combat and its hard to see the seriers that was supposed to be immune to it fall victim to.
