Skill Switching and Skill Bar Godot 2d Tutorial | The Combat Series #4
Game Development Center
In this tutorial, we will build a weapon/ skill switching method that can be used with a variety of different UI methods, like a skill bar.
1:01 Creating the Skillbar (GUI) 5:53 Connecting the Shortcut Buttons 8:19 Load Shortcuts on Game Load 11:35 Selecting a Skill 13:38 Adjusting Combat Properties per Skill
In many games, there is a need for the player to have the ability to switch skills or switch weapons. This skill switching is usually achieved by a skill bar or other method of UI implementation. In this tutorial, we will build the code necessary to make a functioning skill switching mechanic in combination with a skill bar. This will prepare our Combat Series for the future. We can use different skills to explore different combat mechanics.
