Using a 3.3v powered DTMF decoder makes it easier to interface directly with ESP32 compared to the 5V version, which requires level shifting.
The ongoing phone line experiments may expand between just two node direct interfacing.
An MT8808 8x8 analog crosspoint switch is being tested to see if phone line audio can be routed between channels. This may enable a central coordinator to manage call requests and phone line routing between multiple nodes, including multi node party line call connections.
