A4988 Micro-Stepping Driver with Arduino Uno

In preparation for some upcoming projects, I wanted to get a bipolar stepper running with the A4988 microstepping driver for full step to 1/16 microstep control.

Here's how to get it running with Arduino Uno, including how to determine the pinouts for the four stepper wires if you don't know what they are.
