In the past few days, earthquake activity around the Sundhnúkar crater row has been escalating rapidly. On August 18th alone, over 110 earthquakes were recorded, a significant rise from the 60-90 daily quakes observed last week. This uptick in seismic activity is reminiscent of the patterns seen before the last volcanic eruption in May, with land uplift and magma accumulation at similar levels.
