A personal Introduction into the world of Project AD-01

My name is Deek and I am a traditional sculptor from the Black Forest. I always struggled with the title „artist“ until I started making my very own original work.

In today’s day and age artists get stomped over by corporations, automations, and even other artists who seem to devalue the hard work that goes into the creation of ideas, worlds and visuals. Project AD-01 is supposed to be a counterpart to that sentiment where 3D print, AI and general devaluation of long hours of thinking and handcrafting has become underestimated and laughed upon as inefficient, inaccurate and too expensive.

But who are we as a human race anymore if we don’t value the very emotional and personal viewpoints and creative vision of people anymore?

Let this work be a reminder of our humanity in a more and more dehumanizing world. Let it be a reminder of emotions in a workplace where it is all about outcome and numbers. Let it be a reminder of doing things the hard way. Let it be a reminder of creating and not „ripping off“ of others work Let it be a reminder of the beauty of Science Fiction, envisioned by people, not automatically assembled by a committee or an algorithm. Let it be a reminder of the physicality of collectibles instead of NFTs Let it be a reminder to assist each other, and not be assisted by machines. We are human - let us stay human!

Project AD-01 stands for Art Defines Zero One® and is an art project of @freakyDeek The sculptures were made by hand. Even the video work was done practically.

• Mold and cast with polystone and PU resin
• Every piece is a one-of-a-kind due to manual assembly and paint job by freaky-Deek
• Electronics designed and wired by freaky-Deek
• 2 different configurations: with electronics (LED), without electronics
• Electronic version has 2 blue eyes, blue and green energy tubing and blue and green flashing lights in the head plus white status lights
• Dimensions: 178mm x 153 mm x 205mm
• Weight: approx. 800g (varies due to handcast and paint process)
• powered with USB-C, works even with USB4, Thunderbolt3 & 4
