Fez: A Masterpiece Of Moderation

Fez is one of the most celebrated indie games ever made. It came along in 2012, just as indies began to break into the mainstream. Since we just passed the beloved game’s 10th anniversary, we figured it’s time to take a deep dive into its mechanics.

We cover two key aspects of Fez’s design in this video: its inspirations and its twists. Fez isn’t the only game to utilize these, but its moderate approach is what helps it stand out. That’s what this video is all about: finding success in the middle.
