Easy Low Budget DIY Solar Power Installation - Part 3
FixTechStuff
In this video I successfully repair both the solar charge controller and the inverter and make the decision on replacing one of them to futureproof the installation.
More thoughts on the 36V situation. It could be possible that the charge controller passed through full current to the battery and its capacitors stored this voltage, which is why I could still read it even after that track burnt and I unplugged everything. The exact same thing happened on another installation with the same batteries, but this time without burning out the charge controller. The inverter does not like overvoltage situations, which is problematic as it shuts down temporarily.
