Is The MacOS Source Code in Jeopardy?

As you may know, much of MacOS is built off of the "BSDs," especially the open source distribution FreeBSD. The problem is, interest in the BSDs is waning. As a result, MacOS and IOS could be in jeopardy, certainly from a security standpoint if not from lack of development.
