Stacked Stereoscopic PIV - An easy 3D flow measurement technique without Tomo-PIV!

This video describes a technique I developed with my friends at Florida State University to overcome the limitations of Tomo-PIV for volumetric measurements of flow fields in supersonic tunnels.

Any aerodynamicist that has worked with Tomo-PIV understands it is very challenging to get Tomo-PIV measurements in supersonic flows. This is a workaround I came up with (it was a shower thought!). The results speak for themselves. I think this is quite exciting and can help understaning a myriad of flow fields in the future. Hope you also find this useful!
