Welcome to another episode of text functions and formulas, and in this video, We will learn about the most common text function i.e. FIND function. Find function, as name suggests, helps to find mentioned strings or values in the selected cells. Before jumping on to the next part, lets take a look at the function's syntax and arguments;

=FIND(find_text,within_text,start_num)

Find_text - text you want to find.

Within_text - text containing the text you want to find.

Start_num - specifies the character at which to start the search. The first character in within_text is character number 1. If you omit start_num, it is assumed to be 1.

**Find function is case sensitive as compare to search function which will be your next video.

As you can see, the first argument will be the find_text which is the text you want to find as we have explained in the video above as we have selected the text we want to find. The second argument is Within_text, which will be the cell you select from which you want to find the text and the third n' final argument is start_num which specifies the character at which to start the search as we have described above.

Find function is a very common function that is being used when you need to find some text or character in selected cells. This practice is being commonly used by various excel pros in order to find specific data from the selected cells.
