Why is the Sky Blue? The Science Behind It #sciencefacts
Press21
The sky appears blue because of the scattering of sunlight by the Earth's atmosphere. Sunlight is composed of many different colors of light, each with its own wavelength. When sunlight enters the Earth's atmosphere, the shorter blue wavelengths are scattered more than the other colors by the molecules in the air, such as oxygen and nitrogen. This scattering causes the blue light to be scattered in all directions and makes the sky appear blue to an observer on the ground. At sunrise or sunset, when the sunlight must travel through more of the Earth's atmosphere to reach the observer, the longer red and orange wavelengths are less scattered, giving the sky a reddish or orange tint. #press21 #history #science ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjmh9big42w
