Australian Military Using Mind-Controlled Killer Robot Dogs
Press21
the Australian military is patrolling the streets with an army of mind-controlled killer robot dogs. Wait, what do you mean you weren’t worried before but are now? The technology behind it is remarkably lo-fi: little more than a Raspberry Pi strapped to a Microsoft HoloLens (the same sort of headset that reportedly made its wearers violently sick). Together they allow the wearer to think of a command and have the Vision 60 Ghost Robot (think of a cute Boston Dynamics robot dog, but painted black and taught to kill) carry it out. The wearer places augmented reality markers down, like in an open-world video game, and by concentrating hard, the AI decoder can analyze the brain wave data, translate it into commands, and have the robodog carry them out. It apparently only took a couple of sessions for the users to be able to ‘telepathically’ control the robot dog. In a video released by the Australian army, the robot dogs and their telepathic handlers can be seen simulating clearing a building and performing other training exercises. #press21 #news #australia ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGDCbKGK4BM
