This release marks a significant event in Kingpin history. New campaign that directly continues story of the game. 20 years after the original events the technology advanced, and Thug built a spaceship. He comes there because the captain (Moker's son!) wants a private conversation.
Quickly turns out it's a set-up, and the whole crew is against Thug. Maybe Moker wants revenge for his father, who knows. Like, eating Thug for breakfast to finish what was started 20 years ago.
The locations are very impressive to look at. All textures are new. Various trims, colorful lights - everything is used skillfully to form spectacular levels of probably the first sci-fi Kingpin add-on of such quality. What else Kingpin has in sci-fi department? I can only remember WheelBarrow's "Teleport Industries inc.", but that left a lot to be desired.
Here everything forms stylish and believable new places. Walls with beautiful new patterns and trims. New bright signs. And it still retains the "retrofuturistic" kingpin vibes well enough to make occasional original assets blend in perfectly.
Multiple reuses of vertical trims, checkerboard and diamond patterns throughout different room maintain a sense that everything is a part of a bigger coherent place, not a mash of different rooms glued together.
The battle design was made with a lot of care - it manages to mostly avoid frustrating shortcomings of Kingpin's AI.
