I have always believed that the 'limited' output power achieved from these radios is due, in great part, to aged tubes in the audio stages. I decided to put this theory to the test by replacing the EL84 power tube and the EABC80 preamp triode with new tubes. The results were ... surprising to say the least. See for yourself. I also wanted to see what the frequency response curves would be with the various tone presets activated. Using the Visual Analyser software with my PC Scope interface, I did just that. Interesting results. Hope you enjoy the video.
