Sometimes it's the small things that catch you out. Graetz Melodia 519 restoration pt.2

This first stages of the restoration of this Graetz Melodia - the power supply and the audio stages - was actually quite eventless, and the result was great. The second stage, getting some reception back from this deaf radio, should have been quite simple too. However, that was defiantly not the case. I fell for the trap of assuming that some things never go wrong. In this case it was an electrolytic capacitor that had completely shorted out, and had me searching for hours for the problem. The fact that I'd never before seen one of these caps, in that particular use, short out completely, led me to search for the problem everywhere else, until the only remaining possibility was the cap. Lesson learnt - again - never assume! I hope you enjoy the video.
