Connecting long leads is sometimes cumbersome, however, and a small alternative would be useful. This was especially true when I recently did the IF alignment of the Saba Meersburg 100, which requires 4.5VDC to be applied to the AGC line to cancel its effect while adjusting the IF. I needed a small solution, preferably in a plastic enclosure, to avoid shorting anything on the radio. That task was the prime motivator for this little PCB project. I also plan to build a DC supply bus, probably at around 24VDC, from which I can power the various 'under-shelf' devices that I use almost daily. As these require different voltages, I can use the main bus to supply various little boards to get the supplies that I need. The idea then was to create a generic LM317 supply PCB to be used as needed, and not too specific to one particular application.
