After quite a bit of contact cleaning and a few capacitor changes, it seems this radio is back to its glorious state. Still some work to do, but at least I now know that no transistors are bad, as all voltage testing proves within spec. An AM IF alignment proves rather simple, and the BFO slug is also set to achieve zero beat at the centre position of the BFO adjustment. Enjoy.
