I hate these IF transformers! Can we align the FM? Philips Reverbeo B7X14A Stereo restoration pt 7

I've had my share of problems with IF transformers on the Philips sets, so I thought I'd learnt all my lessons. As it happens, I hadn't. These things are incredibly fragile. The cores tend to be stuck, making them prone to cracking internally if you are not careful (or lucky) when you try to align them. I had two mishaps on this phase of the restoration, so luck was not on my side. However, luck did shine through when I tried to repair the problems, so the result was actually very good.
