Phased Array Antenna Basics
Phased arrays are antenna systems composed of numerous smaller radiating elements positioned in a linear or grid arrangement. They are often used in military, air traffic, and weather radars. This video covers the basics of how "beams" of radio (RF) energy can be "steered" electrically rather than mechanically. The mechanical direction, drawn in green is also known as "broadside", while the electrical direction is "boresight".
