What is Space? (for complexity theory) - Easy Theory
Easy Theory
Here we introduce the concept of "space", in that it is the amount of cells a Turing Machine uses on inputs. This is somewhat different than the amount of time used, since cells on the tape can be reused, whereas time can never be (since that is the # of transitions). We also show that SAT (the satisfiability problem) is in linear space: SPACE(n).
